The City of Branson is developing its 2025 Public Right-of-Way (ROW) ADA Improvement Plan and is seeking community input. Residents can report accessibility barriers and provide feedback by completing the Branson Online ADA Survey by Friday, March 7, 2025.
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), enacted in 1990, ensures protections for individuals with disabilities and requires local governments to ensure public infrastructure is accessible. Branson’s ADA Improvement Plan outlines a strategy for enhancing sidewalks, crosswalks, curb ramps and pedestrian signals to meet accessibility standards.
The local initiative aligns with federal ADA requirements and includes a self-evaluation of existing barriers, a process for removing barriers, and a schedule for upgrades through maintenance and capital improvement projects. Common barriers include uneven sidewalks, missing curbs ramps and inaccessible pedestrian signals.
Community feedback is essential in creating an inclusive Branson.
