Christmas parade set for this Sunday

This Sunday evening the Branson community will gather to enjoy the annual Adoration Parade.

The Adoration Parade, one of the community's longest-standing holiday traditions, will begin at the Branson Convention Center. The parade runs along Branson Landing Boulevard and through Historic Downtown Branson.

The Adoration Parade features marching bands and floats presented by local churches and organizations that celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. There will even be an appearance by Santa Claus, himself, direct from the North Pole.

The parade, which began more than seven decades ago, is a highlight of the holiday season in Branson, with residents and visitors of all ages.

With a theme of Keeping Christ in Christmas, the Adoration Parade kicks off at 5 p.m., immediately following the lighting of Branson's Nativity scene that sets high above the shore of Lake Taneycomo on Mount Branson. The 28-foot-tall nativity pieces were refurbished in 2012, following the city's Leap Day tornado, and continue to share a message of Christ's love to visitors and Branson residents each holiday season.
