National Police Week is here. In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day in order to recognize law enforcement officers that lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others, and nationally, it is often celebrated as a full week, National Police Week.
Branson Police officers will be wearing a shroud on their badges through May 17 during this time of recognition, remembrance and honor.
