A long-time Branson community leader is leaving the area to accept a position in Springfield.
According to a press release from the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, Jonas Arjes will soon join their team.
Arjes is a familiar name in the Branson area, as he worked diligently to help bring business to the region. Arjes served as the Executive Director of the Taney County Partnership, which he helped to create, and has worked with a number of other entities as well, leading more than 35 development projects in the Branson area that resulted in over $1 billion in capital investment.
Arjes was at the helm of the Branson Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, as well, serving as interim president on two different occasions.
Arjes will serve as Senior Vice President of Economic Development for the Springfield Chamber of Commerce, a position he will assume in October. According to the press release, Arjes will focus on business attraction, retention and expansion, and workforce development.
